Panchayat
A Panchayat is a collective body of elected representatives constituted to carry out the administrative functions of Panchayati Raj Institutions. In the case of a Grama Panchayat, it serves as the principal governing body responsible for implementing the decisions of the Gram Sabha and managing the day-to-day administration of the local area. The Panchayat consists of a President, who is the head of the institution and presides over meetings while providing overall leadership and supervision; a Vice President, who performs the President’s duties in their absence; and Ward Members, who are elected representatives from each ward and represent the interests of their constituents.
